Marion Edward Gilkey Jr., 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 8, 2025.
Marion was born on February 20, 1949, to the late Marion Edward Gilkey Sr. and Betty Gilkey.
He is survived by the love of his life, Connie Gilkey, and their two children, Katherine and Ryan Gilkey. Marion was blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Ellie and Landon Gilkey, whom he was honored to be called “Jaji.”
He is also survived by his siblings: Pam Gilkey Maze, Lisa Gilkey Rucker, Ramona Gilkey Hawkins (Jeff), Pat Gilkey, and Mike Gilkey, as well as his nephew Rick Gilkey (Danna). Marion was preceded in death by his brother Danny Gilkey.
Marion was a devoted caregiver to his beloved wife and a loving “Jaji” to his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching game shows, listening to music, and was a friend to everyone he met. Marion proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Everyone who knew Marion loved him, and he will be greatly missed.
The family asks that, in Marion’s honor, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will take place at Louisville Memorial Gardens East on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. and burial immediately afterward.
