Marion Theresa Henderson, 94, of Quakertown, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31st, 2025, at the Quakertown Center. Born on March 12, 1931, in Dunmore, PA, she was the daughter of the late James E. Carroll and Elsie K. Carroll (Kaiser) moving to Hatboro, PA, as a young child.
Marion attended Upper Southampton-Warminster High School, graduating in 1948.
In high school, she was known as Mame, a cute, perky little gal often seen very busy as a secretary to one of the teachers. After high school she began a career as a secretary at the Lacey Park Public Housing Administration office. She later took a job at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. She retired after 30 years from the well-earned position of head secretary to the commanding officer of the base.
Married Samuel Henderson, Jr, in 1955 and moved to the country in 1960, raising their family in Haycock Twp. Marion is predeceased by her husband, together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Marion had a true servant’s heart, after retirement she served in the Shut-in Ministry, at both Bethel Baptist and Community Baptist church. Her love for people and the Lord was very evident in how she loved everyone, telling them of Christs’ love for them by sharing the gospel message. Marion’s greatest joy was in expressing her love to her family by making weekly Sunday breakfast and dinner. She loved cooking for her family and inviting anyone join at the table.
Marion will be remembered for her quick wit, warm hugs and I love you’s. She loved her family deeply and cherished the time spent with them.
Marion will be dearly missed by her children, Samuel (Candace) Henderson IV, Port Charlotte, FL, James (Paula) Henderson, Lansdale, PA and Mari (Lucas) Heverly, Perkasie, PA; her grandchildren, Joshua Henderson, Jillian (Kendrick) Immel, Jennifer (Matthew) Rhodes, Amanda (Ethan) Prol, Daniel Heverly and Sara Heverly.
