MARISA PELUSO Obituary

MARISA PELUSO
September 30, 1958 -January 2, 2026
Marisa Ferrieri Peluso was born on September 30th in San Mango d'Aquino, Italy. She spent her childhood between her parents' farm and the beaches of Calabria.
At thirteen, Marisa moved with her family to Long Island, New York. There, she learned to speak English, became a floral designer, married her soulmate, and had her two daughters.
In 1994, Marisa moved with her husband and daughters to Santa Fe, New Mexico, on a wing and a prayer. She built a new life for herself, volunteering in her daughters' schools and continuing to work with flowers.
In 2008, Marisa opened her own business, Marisa's Millifiori. She soon established herself as the city's premier wedding florist. She was forever taking her art to new heights, loving new challenges and the pursuit of excellence. Her flowers inspired romance, passion, and awe.
Marisa put her two daughters through college and was always proud of their professional achievements and the women they became.
Her greatest joy in life was her family-her daughters, Alessandra, Gabriella, and Heatherose, and her grandchildren, Lucia, Santino, and Greta.
Marisa retired at the start of COVID, and her family soon began to notice changes in her attitude and moods. She was eventually diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Marisa died with dignity and grace in her home, surrounded by her family.
Her memorial will be held on March 14th at 11:00AM at Shepherd of the Valley Church on Montaño in Albuquerque.

Dearest Joe, Ali, & Bella,
My heart breaks for your loss and for the loss of my dear friend Marisa! Her love and passion will never leave my soul. I loved her, even when she felt like I didn't. She knew my heart and knew I cared for her deeply. We had not seen each other for a few years and then ran into each other at Atriscos sometime after Covid has subsided a bit. She talked about her plans to move back to New York and be near her sister. I reached out to her via text and a few holiday cards, but didn't hear back from her. I now understand why and wish I had known about her struggle...though she may not have remembered me anymore. I will miss here deeply and I can only imagine your sadness, though I know she was a believer and she has now found peace and rest in the most beautiful place she could only slightly replicate with her amazing floral art! She is with Jesus and the bounty of his glory and light, full of flowers she has never even dreamed of. I love you all. Andrea (Mike and Sawyer too)

Oh this is terrible news. I am so sorry. Marisa was my teaching assistant at ElDorado Elementary in the 1990´s. She was wonderful with the children and a partner teacher for me. I lost touch and then saw her at a friend´s wedding in 2013 where she had prepared all of the flowers for the wedding. I was so happy to see her again and so proud that she had started her own business. I know you will be missed dear Marisa.
