Marisa Gabriella Petrocelli-Jackson, lovingly known as “Titi”,74, of the Bronx, New York passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 after a brief illness. Marisa was born on March 20, 1951 in Rome, Italy to the late John Petrocelli Sr. and Nenetta Napolitano. The Petrocelli Family immigrated to Brooklyn, New York in the 1950’s where she spent the majority of her life before moving to Jackson Heights, Queens in the 1970’s and eventually to the Bronx in 2009 where she spent the rest of her life.

She attended St. Brendan’s Catholic school where she received her high school diploma in 1968. Marisa was a proud graduate of NYU University where she received her master’s degree in education in 1972. A hard worker, she began her employment with the NYC Dept of Education as a paraprofessional in the Bronx in 1979 and then as a teacher and literacy coach at PS 85, where she worked for more than 35 years before retiring in 2013. These roles exemplified her deep commitment to helping others and bettering their education. In a relationship that spanned over 30years, Marisa married the Late Tommy Jackson on January 2, 2004.

Marisa Petrocelli was a one-of-a-kind person who filled everyone’s heart with so much love and warmth. Marisa loved her family and friends and her door and heart were open to all that needed her. She was committed to living her life to the fullest and was a true warrior and fought hard until the end. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend and would help anyone at the drop of a hat.

She loved watching tv shows and movies such as Big Bang Theory and Grey’s Anatomy, West Side Storyand Once Upon a Time in Hollywood . She was a fan of iconic artists such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones. She also loved traveling to Europe and the Caribbean. She will truly be missed for the great laughs and times that she shared with her friends, family and co-workers throughout her years.

Marisa is survived by her brother John Petrocelli Jr.and his wife Linda of Phoenix Arizona, her dear Aunt Letizia Petrocelli, her step son Tommy Jackson Jr., her in laws Tawana Lacey, Debra Toney, Lonnie, Rickey, Eugene and Stanley Jackson. Her nieces and nephewsSara Petrocelli, Christopher Petrocelli, Roderick Petrocelli, Desire Jackson, Ebony Jackson, Ron Jackson, Randy Jackson, Chris Jackson, Tiffany Jackson, Rodney Jackson Jr., Donique Edwards, Malcolm Edwards, Nevaeh Ethridge, Kalea Jackson,David Jackson, Vanessa Jackson. Her cousins Belinda Scott, Glenda Scott, Kareem Arnold, Derrick Thomas, and a host of other family members and friends, especially Niyima Scott, Linda Laraque and Rebecca Hervas, Phil Gonzalez and Carmen Ortiz.
