Marissa Ann Deleon Ramirez, lovingly known as “Rissa,” passed away on January 5, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 27.
Born on September 9, 1998, in Hobbs, New Mexico, where she lived her entire life. From a young age, she carried a vibrant spirit that could light up any room. She was full of life, constantly moving, laughing, and bringing energy wherever she went. Her smile was contagious, and her presence was unforgettable.
Marissa worked as a caregiver, a role that perfectly reflected her compassionate heart and natural desire to care for others. Later, she chose her most meaningful role—being a devoted stay-at-home mother. Her children were her entire world. She poured her love, strength, and joy into raising them, always putting their needs first and finding happiness in even the smallest moments spent together. Her love for her children was fierce, unconditional, and unwavering.
Those who knew Marissa will remember her as strong, loving, and endlessly devoted to her family. She was known for her lively personality, her big heart, and her ability to make others feel seen and loved. Her laughter, energy, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marissa was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Michelle Deleon, her father, Juan Limas Ramirez; her aunt, Cynthia DeLaO; and her maternal grandparents, Janie Deleon and Sergio H. Deleon Sr.
She is survived by her beloved children 3 daughters, M’iani Sanders, Lei’lani Sanders, Ah’mani Sanders and 1 son O’shon Sanders including her significant other Rashad Sanders; her sister, Selena Ramirez (Oscar Leonard) of Elephant Butte, New Mexico; her brother, Nathaniel Deleon of Hobbs, New Mexico; sister Rose Ramirez and brother Ramiro Ramirez, both of Hobbs, New Mexico; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts
Marissa’s legacy lives on through her children and the countless lives she touched with her love, strength, and vibrant spirit.
