Marita Burnam

Marita Burnam slipped peacefully into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of Sunday November 9, 2025. Marita was born on July 12, 1940, in Germany. She lived in Europe with her family until 1960 when she migrated to the United States. She first lived in Brownfield Texas with her family until they moved to Hobbs in the later 60s.

Marita was a super homemaker according to her family. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and all-around homemaker. Their daughter Connie Frye Burnam was born in Hobbs in 1969.

Marita met husband Kevin in 1975 in Hobbs and fell in love right away. They were wed on February 21,1976. They continued to live in Hobbs until 2002 when they moved to Eunice. In 2011 she and her family moved back to Hobbs where she lived until her passing.

Ms. Burnam was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Connie Frye Burnam, her parents Heinrich and Hilda Barakofsky and a brother Manfred Barakofsky. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin Burnam, two grandchildren Annastasia Owens and Kevin Michael Burnam, one sister Cornelia Barakofsky and one nephew Michael Barakofsky.
