Marita Ann Hanusin Clark, 55, a resident of Crestwood, Ky., and formerly of Swoyersville, fell asleep in the Lord early Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of family and close friends in the comfort of her home.
Her loving husband is Stephen E. Clark. Together, Stephen and Marita celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on June 10.
Born Oct. 5, 1970, in Kingston, Marita was one of two children born to the late George Hanusin, who fell asleep in the Lord on May 27, 2001, and Barbara Shampack Hanusin, who fell asleep in the Lord on March 5, 2025.
Raised in Swoyersville, Marita was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1988, and furthered her education at York College, where, in 1993, she acquired her bachelor's degree in accounting.
Besides being a full-time mom, Marita was previously employed by Pioneer Direct Marketing, Louisville, Ky.; Walmart and A. Rifkin Co., both in Wilkes-Barre; and the former Encon, Dallas.
A woman of faith, Marita was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville.
Marita's passion in life was being her children's biggest fan, always interested in what they were interested in, thereby sharing the greatest gifts of all — time and love.
In addition to her parents, George and Barbara Hanusin, Marita was preceded in death by many of her aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Stephen, and their three children, Mariah Clark, Samantha Clark (Tristen Bare), and Matthew Clark; her brother, Michael Hanusin (Jan Gabrielson); her aunt, Faith Shampack Yurgatis; her lifelong best friend, Tracy Walsh; as well as her extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, from the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by an Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, 271 Tripp St., Swoyersville, with the Reverend Father Andrii Dumnych, her Pastor, celebrating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Family and friends are invited to attend Marita's viewing, which will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home. Panachida Services will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Friday evening by the Reverend Father Andrii Dumnych.
