Marjorie Beiser, 92, passed away at the Thorne Crest Senior Living Community on Saturday, January 11, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN, with a visitation held an hour prior to the service. Pastor Mark Boorsma will be officiating.

Marjorie was born on May 21, 1932 to Emil and Angeline (Arnoldi) Budach in rural Wells, MN. She was baptized in the faith in June 1932 and confirmed on March 30, 1947. She attended country school until her father’s death. In 1941, the family moved to Albert Lea. Marjorie helped contribute to the family income with numerous jobs around town. She graduated from Albert Lea High school in 1950. On September 6, 1950, she married Frederick Beiser at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She joined her husband in the farming business in Kiester, MN, and took an active part in the farming operation, putting in long hours beside her husband. In 1964, she, Fred, and the children moved to Stewartville, MN, where she worked for the US Postal Service. She went to school to be an LPN in 1972, graduated in 1973, and took a job at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. After retirement, she and Fred moved back to Albert Lea.

Marjorie had many interests, listening and dancing to “old time” polka music, cake decorating, knitting, sewing, and other crafts. In later years, she took up quilting and genealogy. She and Fred enjoyed traveling, especially their two trips to Europe, and camping in their van. Marjorie spent many hours as a volunteer. She was also an active church member, a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She was a member of Freeborn County Extension, the Red Hat Society, and an officer in the Freeborn County Genealogical Society. She was also a long-time Freeborn County election judge. She enjoyed all these activities until she lost her eyesight, due to macular degeneration.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederick, her daughter Cheryl Wiegand, and four siblings. She is survived by daughter Jeanine (Raymond) Kuwik, son-in-law Dennis Wiegand (late Cheryl), grandsons Brian (late Sara) and John (Whitney) Wiegand, granddaughters Dreanna (JJ) Belting and Julie Leifeld, sister Gladys Tennis, and seven great-grandchildren.

The service will be live-streamed, and can be watched from the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home Facebook page at the following link:  https://www.facebook.com/share/1U7QDQAnbN/
