Marjorie E. Bonasera, 92 of Lansdale passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, John T. Bonasera. John and Marge met at a church/college dance while John was a freshman at Lafayette College. They married in August of 1952 and with John entering active Army service, moved to Maryland for basic training, then next to New Mexico while John was stationed there.  They returned to the East coast and lived several places in New York and Pennsylvania while John pursued his career in aerospace engineering.  Marjorie spent her early years as a busy homemaker, managing many household moves almost single-handedly, while raising 4 children. She later returned to college to study bookkeeping, eventually working for a small firm in Plymouth Meeting.  When her children were grown and out of the house, Marjorie spent her time volunteering in the Archives at Gwynedd Mercy College, reading, gardening, playing piano and doting on her 4 grandchildren. John and Marge moved to Brittany Pointe Estates in 2011, where Marge rediscovered her love of choral singing when she joined the Songsters. She truly cherished the time she spent singing with the group and looked forward to their performances. In the Brittany dining room, she also enjoyed the monthly dinner time get togethers of a special club just for Marjorie's of every various spelling. Marge was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Rogers) Exley. She was born on March 10, 1931 in Phillipsburg, NJ. Her brother, David Exley (Carole) preceded her in death. Marjorie grew up in Phillipsburg where she was surrounded by a large extended family of Exley grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Mom would tell us that she couldn't get away with anything mischievous when she was growing up because everyone in town knew the Exley clan. Marge graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1949 and attended Trenton State Teachers College for a few years before marriage. Marge is survived by her four children; Cynthia Palen and her husband Frederick, Jr. (Bill) of Collegeville; Jean Bonasera and her husband Scott Erickson of
Brooktondale, NY; John Bonasera and his wife Kelliann of Trappe; and James Bonasera and his wife Uldana of Eagleville.  Marge is survived as well by her wonderful grandchildren: Jeff (Lauren) and Robert (Heather) Palen, Ann and Jessica Bonasera and step-grandson Abay Daultiyarov.  She took pride and joy in her great-grandchildren Melanie, Nathan, Brandon and Henry Palen. Services for Marjorie will take place on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale.  The family will receive friends for her viewing from 10:00AM to 11:15AM, with a funeral service starting at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers and if you desire, the family requests donations in Marjorie's name be made to: Saint Jude's Hospital for Children, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at
