Marjorie Edinger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 25, 2026.
EDINGER, Marjorie M., age 88, of Waynesville, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.

Marjorie devoted her life to caring for others, both in her profession and in her everyday life. She began her career as a preschool teacher at Ridgeville Christian School. After earning her Registered Nurse certification from Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, she began her nursing career in the emergency department at Grandview Hospital, where she served for several years. She later returned to Ridgeville Christian School and faithfully served as the school nurse for 24 years, retiring in 1998. Nursing was more than an occupation for Marjorie; it was her calling, and she consistently used her skills to care for those in need.

A devoted woman of faith, Marjorie was a member of Countryside Church of the Nazarene in Lebanon and was also a longtime member of Ridgeville Community Church. She loved reading, especially biographies and nonfiction, and cherished reading her Bible most of all. Marjorie enjoyed needlework and sewing, flower gardening, cooking, and keeping a meticulous home, one her family would often say was clean enough to "eat off the floor." She was highly motivated, organized, generous, caring, and determined. Humble by nature, she quietly served others without seeking recognition, taking great pride in helping people through both her nursing skills and her steady presence. Her greatest pride in life was her family. Among many things, Marjorie will be remembered for her servant's heart, her unwavering faith, and the loving care she extended to all who knew her.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby Knedler; her

brother, Chuck "Sonny" Knedler; and her sister, Dorothy Sewell. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clifford; her daughter, Bonnie (Warren) Hitchcock; her son, Alan (Janice) Edinger; her six grandchildren, Katy (Daniel) Hayes, Julia (Graham) Meagher, Amanda (Matthias) Dewhurst, Victoria (Aaron) Frunzi, Patrick (Chase) Edinger, and Nicholas (Madison) Edinger; and her four great-grandchildren, Tristan, Orpha Della, James, and Josie.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville. Pastor Lester Jones will be officiating. If desired, contributions may be made to Lebanon Christian School. Condolences may be shared with the family at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
