Marjorie LaVon (Moser) Erickson, 98, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Manchester Methodist Church in Manchester. Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with the Pastor Phil Rogers officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Delhi. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester is in charge of arrangements.
Marjorie was born on Oct. 12, 1927, in Greeley, IA, the daughter of Arthur and Ada (Niederfrank) Moser. She attended Greeley School and graduated in 1945. On Dec. 23, 1947, Marjorie was united in marriage to Eric (Bob) Erickson. To this union, five children were born. The couple farmed in the Earlville and Greeley area. They retired from farming in 1970 and moved to Oneida. Marjorie worked at the Good Neighbor Home as a cook and later cooked at the Greeley meal site. In 2015 she moved to an apartment in Manchester. She was a longtime member of the Greeley United Methodist church. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, and quilting. She took great pride in her cooking and sewing and loved sharing her bake goods and quilts with her family and friends.
Marjorie is survived by 4 of her children, Gloria Cain of Liberty, Missouri; Robert (Barb) Erickson of Mount Vernon; Rich (Debra) Erickson of Edgewood; and Roger (Connie) Erickson of Manchester; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; 7 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eric in 1988; her daughter Marjorie Hawkins in 2002; 2 sons-in-law, Fred Cain and Larry Hawkins; and her 2 brothers, Arthur Moser and Marion Moser.
The family would like to thank Jerry Moorman for being such a good friend to Marjorie over the years. They would also like to thank the staff at the Good Neighbor Society, Marietta’s Place, and the Manchester Regional Medical Center for the wonderful care of Marjorie.
Marjorie was a loving and giving person and will be greatly missed by her family
