Marjorie Fugate

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Marjorie Fugate, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who gracefully passed away on July 2, 2025, at the remarkable age of 100. Born on April 20, 1925, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Carl and Percie (nee Colborn) Teetor, Marjorie enriched the lives of those around her with her warmth, kindness, and infectious joy.
Marjorie spent her formative years in Okeana and graduated from Morgan School. She briefly worked at Fernald, where she met her beloved husband, Rudell Fugate. Together, they welcomed a daughter, Peggy, who became the light of Marjorie's life. As a devoted homemaker, she filled her home with love, laughter, and creativity, nurturing not just her family, but also countless animals and the beautiful monarch butterflies that she tenderly raised over the years.
A passionate gardener and talented seamstress, Marjorie shared her love through her quilting, creating cherished blankets for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a spirited sports enthusiast, cheering for her favorite teams, including the Ohio State Buckeyes, Vanderbilt College, the Reds, and the Bengals, bringing her family together around shared victories.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband Rudell Fugate, parents, and siblings: Helen Muller-Marksberry, Ruth Coleman, and Robert Teetor.
Marjorie will be deeply missed by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and John Fitzgerald; her cherished granddaughters, Chrissy (Simon) Lugge and Robin (Robert Jamison) Durrough; and her precious great-grandchildren, Ava and Otto Lugge. Her legacy continues through her beloved nieces and nephews, Elaine (Keith Ross) Coleman, Rosalind Spencer, Steve and Stanley Coleman, and her great-nieces and nephews. Marjorie's wonderful caregivers, Rhonda, Jane, Karen, Ann, and Mona, will also hold her memory dear.
Family and friends are invited to honor Marjorie's remarkable life at Brater Winter Funeral Home on Monday, July 7, 2025. The visitation will begin at 10 am, leading to a funeral service at 11 am, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears in remembrance of a life beautifully lived. A private burial will take place at New London Cemetery.
In celebration of her lasting love for animals, we invite those who wish to honor Marjorie's spirit to consider making memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to any animal shelter in her memory or Hospice of Cincinnati. A funeral home representative can assist during the services.
Join us as we celebrate the remarkable journey of Marjorie Fugate, whose love touched the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may be gone from this world, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
