Marjorie Loes Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 8, 2025.
Marjorie Ann Loes, 69, of North Liberty, IA, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Private family services have been held. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Alta Vista, IA at a later date.

Marjorie was born November 4, 1956, in Charles City, IA, the daughter of Virgil and Norma (Springer) Tolliver. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1975. Marjorie was united in marriage to Brian Loes on June 15, 1974, in Alta Vista, IA. She was a personal care assistant for many years in Iowa and Wisconsin until retiring in 2015.

Marjorie had a deep love for her quarter horses. She raised and trained many horses throughout the years. She and Brian often went on trail rides together as well as participating and winning many Quarter horse Association Events. Marjorie enjoyed fishing and one of her favorite locations was Lake Pepin in Minnesota. Each year the family would go fishing and camp, often in the rain. She shared peaceful moments on the water with loved ones and found great joy in the outdoors. Her warmth, enthusiasm for her hobbies, and kindness touched everyone who knew her, leaving lasting memories that will be treasured by all.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Brian; son, Cory (Krystal) Loes of Iowa City; two grandchildren, Finley and Lleyton Loes; two sisters, Sheryl (Chris) Ostlund of Waukee, IA and Denise Streich of Charles City, IA.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Tolliver; mother, Norma Kobliska and stepfather, Walter Kobliska; brother, Dennis Tolliver; and two children, Bridget and Jason Loes.
