Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith-Miner Funeral Home from Jun. 29 to Jun. 30, 2023.
Today our hearts are broken as we share the passing of Marjorie (Marge) May Neeb (Tucker), 83 of Midland. On Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family, our beloved mother and friend left us here on earth to join Jesus Christ in heaven. The daughter of Lawrence and Ruth (Berridge) Tucker was born on August 29, 1939 in
Midland, MI. On October 26, 1963 she married Frank E. Neeb and they shared 57 wonderful years together. Marge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Left to cherish her memory are her 3 children; Christopher (Chris) Neeb of Midland, Karen Roebuck of Midland and Sean Curtis (Michelle Kelley) Neeb of Interlochen; grandchildren Nicki (William) Sutter, Ryan (Heather) Stoll, Joshua Stoll, Cassandra (Tyler) Orvosh, Marina (Zachary) Miller and Tristin Neeb; great grand-children Jenna Sutter, Ella Sutter, Gunner Butters, Hunter Butters, Harper Stoll, Olivia Stoll and Daisy Orvosh.
A Midland High School Graduate in 1958, Marge moved on to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital Nursing Program where she graduated as an LPN in 1961. Marge began her nursing career as a pediatric nurse and then worked for Dr. Goethe and Dr. VanSickle for a combined 27 years. She finished out her career at Midland Urgent Care where she worked for another 25 years.
Marge was a longtime supporter of the Midland County 4H Program and served as the 4H Camp Neyati Nurse for 44 years and had lots of stories to share. She always lead the camp exercises and practiced a healthy life style for the 4H'ers. In 2000 she decided to start her own 4H Club called Horse Tales; at times she had as many as 90 members and was still active in the club 23 years later. Horse Tales was known throughout the community for the many charitable activities they did including the Toys for Tots Collection, Santa Parade, family adoptions at Christmas, Thanksgiving dinners for those in need in addition to Tall In The Saddle which provided handicap members with the opportunity to enjoy horses as she did. One of the proudest times in her life was when she was able to start her own farm and raise/train horses to share with her family and 4H Club. She was always the spark plug for any 4H activity that her club wanted to do from shoeing horses to 4H State Awards. She was a one of a kind leader that made you want to participate and help with the club rather than making you feel like you had to help. Marge enjoyed participating in Leader Training at the Kettunen Center and State Exchanges, she did her best to promote local, state and national 4H activities to her club including Exploration Days at Michigan State University. She served as 4H Council president and council member for several years chairing the 4H Cafeteria Committee which she loved to work during fair week. Marge loved working with the youth and will be dearly missed by her 4H Club members, past and present along with the 4H Community.
Marge was a pillar and longtime member of the Eagle Ridge Church of God family where she gave many hours through her involvement in Vacation Bible School, teaching Sunday School and serving on a variety of committees including the decorating committee for the new building, Midland Cultivate and Sanford Cultivate. For many years in the fall Marge was a huge part of Round Up Sunday making it a great event for the church. She was a huge part of Bible Explorers and hosted many craft nights and was the church prankster. If you were to think of a few words to remind you of Marge you could say Fun, Feisty and Full of Faith! She had a big heart that shined bright through her love for missions, especially mission trips to Guatemala. In 2008 Marge met a girl that was deaf and chose to sponsor her paying for her schooling so she could have a better/brighter future and in 2015 she returned to build a home for a new family. Marge was never afraid of hard work and always wanted to do hands on work with the people from Guatemala. Her love and support for all who have known her will never go unnoticed. She has been a great witness to all who have crossed her path and will be greatly missed by those who loved her at Eagle Ridge Church of God.
Marge was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank, parents Lawrence and Ruth Tucker, brother Larry Tucker and great-granddaughter McKinli Butters.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Smith-Miner Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at Eagle Ridge Church of God located at 2808 Waldo Rd,
