Marjorie Ann Sanford, born on July 26, 1941, in Evanston, Illinois, passed away on January 3, 2026. Beloved daughter to the late Casimir and the late Sophie Szczepaniak. She was a beloved figure who dedicated her life to both her family and her career. Marjorie served as an administrative assistant at Washington National Insurance Company. After taking a break to raise her four children, she returned to the same company, where she continued to make significant contributions for an additional twenty years.

Throughout her life, Marjorie was known for her vibrant spirit and love for travel, having visited nearly every state across the United States. Her adventures often included trips to Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Mesquite, where she enjoyed the thrill of playing the slots.

Marjorie's close connections were evident through her cherished friendships; among her dearest friends were Ashley Donaldson and Doris Sobat. She had a wide network of acquaintances, including many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and other friends who enriched her life.

Marjorie is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Eugene C Sanford Jr, and her four children: Eugene Curtis Sanford, III, Christopher Scott Sanford(Melissa), Linda Michelle Sanford, and Kimberley Ann Garcia(Juan). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jessica Garcia, Christian Sanford, Marcos Garcia, Jack Sanford, Karina Garcia, and Diego Garcia. Additionally, she is remembered by her sibling, Casimir Szczepaniak(Dorothy), as well as her sister in-laws, Margaret “Muggie” Mikos and Ann Sanford.

Majorie was preceded in death by her siblings, Edwin Szczepaniak and Virginia "Jeanie" Kay.

She will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, including her grand-puppies, Duque, Mickey, and Jake, who brought joy to her life. Marjorie Ann Sanford’s legacy of love, diligence, and adventurous spirit will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Evanston Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society in Marge’s name is appreciated.
