In Loving Memory of Mark Antoine Bacchus Sunrise: April 28, 1963 – Sunset: May 17, 2025
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
Mark Antoine Bacchus peacefully departed this earthly life on May 17, 2025, surrounded by love and sustained by faith. He transitioned to his eternal home, where he was joyfully reunited with his mother, father, brother, sister, and a host of beloved family members who preceded him in death-a great cloud of witnesses now welcoming him into the presence of the Lord.
Though sickness and pain tried to dim his light, Mark's unwavering faith and the love of those around him carried him through. He fought with quiet strength, dignity, and courage until the very end.
From an early age, Mark experienced profound loss, yet his resilience never wavered. His signature smile could light up any room, and his gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Mark was a humble man of integrity who believed in the value of hard work. To him, showing up every day wasn't just a task-it was a statement of character. He kept a close-knit circle, but his heart and presence were open to all.
A proud graduate of Hyde Park High School in Boston, MA, Mark went on to serve in the Army National Guard. He later built a successful career in hospitality, beginning in restaurant management and eventually dedicating over 20 years to hotel management at the Midtown Hotel in Boston. His passion for serving others never waned, even as his health declined. Mark's work ethic, kindness, and calm leadership were respected by all who worked alongside him.
Mark was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Nellie Hazel Bacchus; father, Clinton Laucaw; brother, Clayton Bacchus; sister, Marlene White; nephews, Herbert Bacchus and Kevin Bacchus; and nieces, Hazel Bacchus and Elizabeth White. He leaves to cherish his memory:Three loving sisters: Jeannette Sanders, Letha Webb, and Sherrie LaucawOne devoted niece: Michele Bacchus-Myers (Christopher)Nephews: Adam White, Terrance Bacchus (Deloris), Richard Carrington (Lanette), Tom Webb, Tyrone White (Corrine) and Ronald Sanders (Lis). A host of extended family, friends, colleagues, and one especially close and cherished friend, Tracey Mims. Mark will be deeply missed, yet his legacy of quiet strength, steadfast love, and unwavering faith will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
