Mark Baker was born February 9, 1957, in Miami, FL at Jackson Memorial Hospital to the late Margaret Rosetta Baker.

Mark grew up in church at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church (ZHMBC) where he gave his life to Christ at an early age. He met his wife at ZHMBC at a young age but didn't know she would one day become his wife. They attended ZHMBC as kids and later returned to ZHMBC as adults and began to date in 1985. Six years later, May 25, 1991, Mark and Queen were united in marriage at Glendale Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Joseph Coats. Mark and Queen remained united for 34 years until his death. They shared three sons: Nazerath, Dwayne and Marcus. Mark later attended New Birth Baptist Church under Rev. Victor T. Curry, where Mark became a Deacon. He also attended Grace of God Baptist Church, pastored by Rev. Mark Coats. Mark later joined Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. Walter Richardson and made his final church home at Refuge Church Miami, under Pastor Jeremy Upton.

Mark attended Miami Springs High School in the early 70's then later attended Miami Dade Community College where he was a member of the National Service Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega and became the Vice President of his chapter.

Mark became a self-employed Tax Preparer and did this for 30 years, while he worked as a salesclerk at Assurant.

Mark loved family time, playing cards, connecting with people to send out words of encouragement, and he loved sports. He was a die-hard fan of the San Francisco 49ers. He also enjoyed connecting with his fraternity brothers of Alpha Phi Omega and traveling with his wife and family.

Mark leaves to cherish his precious memories; his wife Queen, sons: Nazerath Henry, Dwayne Moore, Marcus Fank; brothers: Winston (Marilyn), Kem (Lajuana), a sister Whilamena Worthy; 17 grandkids, 11 great-grands and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
