Mark A. D. Balila, 24, of Ventura, California, and Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on December 15, 2025.
Mark was born on April 17, 2001, in Manila, Philippines, the son of Jeacelyn Balila and Alvin Arcos. He graduated from Gadsden County High School in 2019 and proudly joined the U.S. Navy in 2021, serving as an equipment operator at the Naval Base in Port Hueneme, California.
Mark had a zest for life and a heart full of love. He especially enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends, spending time with his beloved dog Tango, hiking and camping, playing volleyball at the beach, and going out for fun and adventure.
He is survived by his parents, Jeacelyn Balila (Michele Purkey) and Alvin Arcos (Ariane Jane); brothers, Brohnson Chancey and Akhilleus Chancey; sisters, Thalia Chancey and Keacelyn Chancey; spouse, Nick Pasko; uncles, Felix Jr. Balila and Marciano Balila; aunts, Cecilia Balila, Fely Balila, and Jeane Mesias. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Felix Sr. and Sherly Balila, and his uncle Alexander Balila.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, South Carolina. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sauls Funeral Home, with clergy officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the Naval Medical Center Beaufort Honor Guard. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via livestream.
