The world has lost a very good man. Mark Beining, 64, passed away unexpectedly on November 30th, 2023. The official cause of death is pneumonia due to covid, but we all believe Mark died of a broken heart after the passing of his beloved daughter, Marissa, this past summer.
Mark was born on December 1st, 1958, to Ken and Carol Beining in Appleton. Mark grew up in a household of 4 boys and 1 girl. It was a childhood full of love, fun and so many adventures that are endlessly retold by his siblings. He adored his brothers and sister.
After graduating from Appleton West, Mark went on to a lengthy career at Consolidated Construction. He was always hardworking and dedicated. Mark met his wife, Jill, on a blind date. He went home that night and told his mother “I just met the girl I am going to marry.” Mark and Jill married on December 5th, 1981, and would have celebrated 42 years of a great life. Mark’s great love and joy were his daughters, Mindy and Marissa or as he called them, Burger and Boom Boom. When his first, Mindy, was born he said “I have never loved anyone the way I love her.” Mark was a very involved parent, he co-parented equally with Jill, though he was much more a pushover.
Mark was blessed with another kind of love with his grandchildren Lexy 19, Abbi 17, Marley 11, Kaley 6 and Jase 4. He simply adored them.
How to put in words the kind of man Mark was? First and foremost, he was very kind, he treated everyone with integrity, a lesson that we have all benefitted from. He would not tolerate anyone talking behind backs and would say “sweep in front of your own door.” Mark didn’t always say much but when he did, it was always full of wisdom….or wit. Mark was extremely funny, he spewed witticisms that have stayed with everyone forever.
Until his back limited him, Mark was an avid outdoorsman, fishing and hunting. He was always with his loyal companion, one of his many German Shorthaired Pointers. His special place was the family cottage on Lake Winneconne. His ashes will be spread there. He enjoyed watching all the Wisconsin sports teams. Mark and Jill spent many Sundays at Lambeau Field, some of his most cherished times.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Carol Beining and his daughter, Marissa Beining. He is survived by his wife Jill, his daughter Mindy (Tony) Fischer and their children Kaley and Jase, Brian Bojarski with Lexy, Abbi and Marley, his brothers Mike (Julie) Beining, Tim (Jodi) Beining, Tom (Sally) Beining and his sister Chris (Dennis) O’Connor. He is also survived by Jill’s parents Gordon and Pat Dobbe, his brothers-in-law Jeff (Kathleen) Dobbe, John (El) Dobbe and Jim Dobbe and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially his dearest Mike and Roxane Beinemann.
Always and forever Mark, “Fine and yourself?"
Mark's impact on all of us will be celebrated on Wednesday December 13, 2023, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, at Waverly Beach Bar and Grill, N8770 Firelane 1, Menasha.
