Mark Anthony Chamberlain, 55, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, while surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born in Fort Riley, KS on July 13, 1970, he was the son of Robert and Gisela (Schindler) Chamberlain.
Mark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the 1st Gulf War where he did two tours to Saudi Arabi and earned the National Defense Service Medal. After the service, he worked in law enforcement for over 30 years with a majority spent with the Swanzey Police Department as a K-9 handler to his partner and best friend K-9 Argo. In 2012, he achieved the rank of Lieutenant until his retirement in 2019. After a short retirement, he returned part time as a Sheriff Deputy at the Cheshire County Sheriff's Office for the remainder of his career.
Mark was a member of the NH Working Dog Foundation and had spent many years donating his time as a coach and board member to the area youth athletic programs. When he wasn't working, he loved spending time at home with his family and beloved dogs. He had recently taken up golf and loved his time on the course, and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Kathleen (Keefe) Chamberlain of Marlborough; son Cameron Chamberlain and his wife Kenna (Rogers) Chamberlain of Marlborough; daughter Lauryn Chamberlain of Keene; mother Gisela (Schindler) Chamberlain of Marlborough; sisters Marion (Chamberlain) Benoit of Keene, Michelle (Chamberlain) Talbot and her husband Richard of Marlborough, Kelly (Thayer) Smith and her husband Jereck of Mass; brother Robert Thayer and partner Philip Quinno of Mass; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends who are family, and his brothers and sisters in Blue.
A visitation will be held from 4PM to 8PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave, Keene, NH 03431. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel.
