Mark Evald Clausen was taken to his eternal home on April 23, 2024, at the age of 72. His last days were spent at St. Catherine South with support from Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Mark was born to Evald and Ivadelle (Hunstad) Clausen on May 24, 1951, and grew up in Argyle, MN. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Moorhead State University in 1973. Mark worked in agricultural finance and retired from ProPartners financial in 2015. He valued the people he worked with and was grateful to use the knowledge and experience he gained from each position he had.
Mark married Teryl Seifert on July 16, 1977, in Moorhead, MN. They had one daughter, Jessica, who was born in 1984. Jessica married Taylor Mertz in 2011 and they have two daughters, Grace (10), and Lillian (8).
Mark’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, and motorcycling. He was blessed to have many wonderful friends he could share those moments with. Mark enjoyed traveling and spending time at the lake with his family and friends. He was a part of Bible Study Fellowship for many years and served on the Fix It Crew at Triumph Lutheran Brethren in Moorhead. Most important to Mark was his faith in God. He clung to the truth that God is in control of his life on earth, and he has a home in heaven after his death.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Evald and Ivadelle, and his sister, Barbara Carlson. He is survived by his wife, Teryl, daughter, Jessica (Taylor), granddaughters Grace and Lillian, and his sister, Linda Scharba.
Memorials are preferred to Memory Café of the Red River Valley, Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, and Serenity Assisted Living and Memory Care.
A Visitation for Mark will begin at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, followed by his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, Moorhead, MN.
The burial will take place in Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
