Mark William Collins, age 93, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on February 10, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1932, in Whigham, Georgia, to the late Thomas Edward Collins and Annie Trulock Collins.
He graduated in 1949 from Whigham High School and enlisted in the Army in August of 1950. He served in the Army until 1953 with the Medical Company, 188th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne Division.
He started working for Warner's Company in Thomasville, GA, in April 1954, where he met his first wife, Josephine Morris. Mark and Josephine were married in April 1958 until January 1971 when she preceded him in death.
After 10 years at Warners, Mark started working at the US Postal Service in 1964, where he retired in 1992 after 28 years. After a year or two of retirement, he decided he needed something to keep himself busy, so he went to work part-time at Capital Auto Parts, delivering parts.
Mark remarried in March 1972 to Frances Newsome, who preceded him in death in 2019.
Mark was a faithful member of East Side Baptist Church in Thomasville for almost 70 years, where he served in various capacities during that time.
Mark is survived by sons Keith Collins (Karen) and Darrell Collins (Nancy) from his first wife, and daughter Diana Collins from his second wife; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by his 10 siblings.
