Mark Curry Cross, III, of Athens Ga, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2025, in Ila, Georgia.
Born on March 25, 1996, in Atlanta, he was a vibrant and enthusiastic individual whose zest for life touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. “To know Curry was to love Curry”
Mark, also endearingly known as “Curry” or “The CurCur," and had proudly attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, which marked a significant achievement in his academic journey. His determination and thirst for knowledge were always present. He was known for his inquisitive mind and his love of animals and nature. Mark had a genuine passion for learning, always eager to expand his horizons.
A member of the Athens First United Methodist Church, His warmth and kindness resonated with those around him, offering support and friendship to many.
Mark is survived by his loving family, including his mother Susan Mobley, his father Mark C. Cross, Jr. his Bonus Mom, Frances Cross. his grandfather, Tom Craddock; and his siblings, brothers John Mobley (Amelia) Cross and Philip Doherty; as well as sisters Constance Anne Cross, Caroline Doherty (Tom) Coggins, Emily Doherty, and Allison Doherty. Together, they share countless memories and stories that will live on in their hearts.
Mark's spirit will be dearly missed, and his legacy of love, kindness, and pursuit of knowledge will continue to inspire everyone he touched. As we remember his life, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and honor the impact he made during his time with us.
A celebration of life will be held at Athens First United Methodist Church at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, February 14th with a reception to follow.
