Mark lived a several blocks south of me in Edina. One day a silver Corvette roadster drove up my drive. It was my old Corvette Mark purchased it from a dealer a few months later. We struck a great friendship over the next 55 yrs. I spent Thur eves for several years at Maid of Scandanavia in St Louis Park when Mark drove in from Litchfield MN to service his dad's business. We worked on a 944 Porsche I owned, a 1978 Mailbu wagon and a few snowmobiles in the basement of "The Maid". His two brothers, Charlie, Dick invited me to Madeline Island for a weekend of snowmobiling. My wife, Joanie and I spent a weekend at the Island and Marks boat. Mark was a great friend; helped me "do projects". Introduced me to his cousin David Dalquist of Nordic Ware. Over the years, I would talk to Mark in Litchfield, over the phone or at the 261 steam engine in Minneapolis where Mark volunteered to the "Friends of the 261"
Mark Dalquist spent many many summers at Lake Superior; flew his plane to the island every weekend. He volunteered for the 261 for years. Rebuilt Tornados for years. A great electronics & mechanical mind. A true friend of many and me.
