Mark Anthony Davis, born on February 14, 1956, in Amarillo, TX, to Charles and Dolores “Fody” Davis, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and free spirit who touched the lives of many.
A true lover of music and a proud hippie at heart. He loved having exotic animals. He had a lion named Urang when he was younger, as well as a pig, snakes, and a baby tiger. There were even rumors of a monkey. He had a love for birds of prey, taking injured birds in and rehabilitating them to release them. Mark embraced life with an unorthodox spirit, dodging the 9-5, paving his own way. He ran a knife retail business and often gave his kids and grandkids knives, Chinese Stars, swords, blow darts and so much more.
In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, he was a source of unwavering support for those in need. Whether it was lending a hand with house repairs or tending to lawns, he was always ready to help, often giving the shirt off his back to those in need.
He is survived by his daughter Dallas Dawn Davis, husband Brandon. Grandchildren Eric, Lily and Regan. His son Jackson Davis, wife Lisa, granddaughter Katie. His son Gary Leamer, wife Yolanda, grandchildren Hope, Gary, Kaleb and Ashley. And daughter Alicia Marie Pickens, husband Greg, grandchildren Tori, Tyler and Jason. He also had many adopted children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles (Butch) Davis, Steven Davis, and Matthew Johnson.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Thursday, October 10th at 2:00pm at The Loft Church, 4400 S Georgia St., where family and friends are invited to honor his remarkable spirit. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mark was a recovering alcoholic, celebrating 26 years of sobriety from alcohol. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Old Corral Club at 1301 S. Taylor, Amarillo TX, 79101, in his memory.
