Mark Eife Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John F Givnish Funeral Home - Academy Rd on Jun. 25, 2024.
Mark Stephen Eife, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on January 1, 1956, in Philadelphia, where he spent his life creating lasting memories and touching countless hearts.
Mark's journey was one of love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. On June 12th, 1982, in Philadelphia, he married the love of his life, Joyce Gerhardt. Their love story began as teenagers, meeting at a dance at Jardel Recreation Center, and blossomed into a beautiful 42-year marriage filled with love, laughter, understanding, and devotion.
A graduate of George Washington High School, Mark went on to earn an associate's degree from the Community College of Philadelphia. He dedicated over 40 years to the automotive industry, showcasing his hardworking nature and exceptional skills. Mark's passion for fixing things extended beyond cars to anything he encountered, from plumbing to landscaping – earning him a reputation as the go-to person for all repairs.
Mark's vibrant personality shone through in his hobbies and interests. A lover of dancing, live music, fishing, Philadelphia sports, crossword puzzles, and spending time at his happy place in Sea Isle City, NJ. Mark embraced life with a zest that was infectious to all around him. He could always be found on the dance floor, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went.
His characteristics were as diverse as they were admirable – he was hardworking, dependable, hilarious, genuine, and the life of the party with a heart of gold. Mark was truly one of a kind, the ultimate Dad and Poppee who adored his family above all else. His love for coffee, Taco Bell and all things chocolate was just one of the many quirks that made him so endearing to those fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his wife, Joyce (Gerhardt), Mark is survived by his mother E. Joanne Eife; children Nicole Giorgione (Nicolas), Allison, Regina (Peter), and Christopher (Averi); his grandchildren Mark Giorgione and Lydia Eife; his brothers Gregory (Michele) and Brian (Lucy); his sister Loretta Cloud (Jerry); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Eife.
Mark's impact extended beyond his family, as he dedicated his time to the Academy Sabres Sports Association as a coach and board member for many years. His commitment to his community and passion for helping others will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to Mark's Life Celebration on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 9:00-10:30am at John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Martha's Church, 11301 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 at 11:00am.
