Mark D. Fate

Mark Fate was a true and dear friend of mine for about 18 years.......he once said he considered us "friends until the end"........at age 71 I was sure I would die before he did, but fate had other plans. When I heard the news about his death from Dewayne Yeager about 24 hours ago I felt lightheaded and nearly passed out from shock........I will miss him terribly and offer my sincere heartfelt condolences to his wife Sue and son Mickey and daughter Alexis. Mark was over the moon about his grandchildren and it is so terribly sad that he was taken from his family so suddenly at the age of 57. At least his grandchildren will remember their pap pap. He was my friend through thick and thin and I last saw him about two months ago when I was in Tenth Ward. He showed me his scar from heart surgery in September 2020 and said he never felt better............he was a family man and a hard worker and always kind and generous by nature. I am devastated by his death.
