Mark Edward Flasch, age 63, of Schaumburg, passed away suddenly of natural causes on March 14, 2023. He was the loving and devoted husband to Carla (Wojcik) Flasch for 32 years and loving dad to Lara and Owen. He joyfully played a number of roles (husband, dad, son, friend, and many more), and was the absolute best one we could have asked for - a man of God who daily put the interests of Jesus and others above his own.
He was born on November 1, 1959 in Chicago, IL, to Arlene (Milschewski) and the late Edward, and baptized at St. Martini Lutheran Church. He grew up in Elmhurst, IL as the oldest of three boys, attending Immanuel Lutheran School and York High School.
He met the love of his life, Carla Wojcik at Elmhurst College in 1980. They were married in the historic chapel at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg, IL on September 16, 1990. They raised their two children in Schaumburg and were very active and involved members at St. Peter, as well as within their community. At St. Peter, Mark served as a Church Council member and as an Elder for many years, and volunteered in countless other invaluable ways around both the church and school.
After spending much of his career in the auto glass industry, he became St. Peter's Director of Operations in 2022. He felt very blessed and thankful to be able to serve St. Peter in this position, and had been making a tremendous impact with his business expertise and his passion for the Church's ministry and mission.
He will be deeply missed by his family and community. He will always be remembered as someone who dropped everything to help others, the life of every party, and the best husband and dad in the world.
Mark will be missed by his loving wife, Carla Flasch, his children Lara Flasch (Curt Olbrich) and Owen Flasch, his mother, Arlene Flasch, brothers and sisters-in-law David (Brenda) Flasch, Paul Flasch (Merrie Martin), Dawn Flasch, Lisa (Mark) Fulford, and Heidi (Tim) Bertels, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Mark is reunited in heaven with his father, Edward Flasch, and his in-laws Leonard and Elsbeth Wojcik. We grieve that he is no longer on earth but rejoice that he is with our dear Savior Jesus.
A memorial service will take place on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg. Visitation will take place from 1:00-3:00 pm, with a service at 3:00 and burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kirsch/Flett scholarship fund at St. Peter Lutheran School.

My name is Valerie Cannon. I had the pleasure to work under Mark while he was an employee of Gerber Glass. Mark was a great motivating person, great qualities, and had a most beautiful personality. He always greeted you with a smile, and he would share the scriptures. He will truly be missed as an angel here, but gained his wings. See you later, servant.
