POLAND - In the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, my partner of this world, Mark A. Frankland, went for his final earthly hike and passed away into his eternal heavenly home.
Mark was born March 31, 1961, in East Palestine, to Chuck and Loretta Frankland, where he spent his youth and graduated from Crestview High School in 1979.
Mark spent many fruitful years as a skilled union painter. His craftsmanship and dedication to his trade were to be admired. He took pride in the work he accomplished throughout his career.
Outside of his professional life he was an avid walker and hiker. The woods were his altar, taking in all that God's nature gifted him. He also loved music and could be heard a block away joyfully playing his bass guitar at full sound. He put his heart into planting flowers, vegetables and herbs to be shared with family, neighbors and friends.
Mark leaves his loving partner, Kathleen Mattozzi; sons, Joseph, Daniel and Eric Frankland; his mother, Loretta Frankland; and brothers, Jim (Cheryl) and Rob (Xiuping) Frankland. Mark also leaves nieces, nephews, friends and lovingly the Lowry family.
Mark was predeceased by his father, Chuck Frankland.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, with a prayer service to follow.
Sincere gratitude to Crossroads Hospice for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, Mark would wish for donations to Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley, 1300 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Youngstown, OH 44510.
