Death Notice

Mark Green

1973 - 2024

Mark L. Green died January 2, 2024 at his home in Des Peres, Missouri.
Mark was born in Redbud, Illinois in 1973, and grew up in Coulterville, Illinois. He was the youngest of four children and was definitely the "baby" of the family. As a boy, Mark loved making video movies in his basement with his best friend Tim. He would put on a "performance" each night after dinner for the family to watch. Mark was an avid baseball player all through high school and his adult years. This resulted in his love for the St. Louis cardinals.
Mark graduated from college in 1995 with a Bachelors in Communications. He high-tailed it to St. Louis and hit the ground running. Mark's career is a unique combination of executive, founder, inventor, and mentor. Mark founded 3 tech companies in St. Louis that pushed the edge of social media, sustainability, and sales engagement. Two of these 3 were formed to help the agriculture industry modernize (something he found passion for given his hometown roots in rural Illinois). Mark also served as an executive at 2 advertising agencies, Brighton and Osborn & Barr, where he led their digital capabilities. He grew them significantly in his tenure. Mark's last role was at Slalom Consulting, based in Seattle, as a Senior Client Partner, that converged his startup and agency experience, leading digital transformations for global companies. While Mark served in various roles and titles, his greatest achievements were seeing the people that he served grow in their careers and achieve their goals.
But, circling back to college graduation. To this very day, if you asked Mark what he really wished he would have done, he would tell you that he regrets not going to a Fine Arts School. His true passion was painting. Mark was an amazing artist. He dreamed of having an art studio in his home, where he could paint, as his way to calm and comfort and complete his day. His darn wife and kids got in the way of that, for sure! Despite challenges Mark faced during the last few months of his life, he managed to paint with his cousin Rick (in Rick's studio) and found his calm, his comfort, and happily completed a few days doing what he loved.
Above all else, Mark was very loving and compassionate. He put his whole heart into his family; his wife and 3 kids. He adored his three children, Pierce (16), Eiley(13), and Arden(11), and burst with exuberant pride and joy each time he shared an accomplishment or a story about them. And, he never stopped talking about the amazing wife, mother, and "rock" that Keelan was for all of them. Despite life's challenges that come with marriage, Mark and Keelan accomplished 20 years together on Oct. 18th, 2023! They had some amazing laughs, fun trips, and truly loved each other. And, let's not forget how much he loved their little Boston Terrier, Olive!
Mark is survived by his wife, Keelan, and their three beautiful, amazing, strong, children, Pierce(16), Eiley(13), and Arden(11) Green, his father Floyd Green, his siblings Vicky Green, Cindy (Marc) Lowe, and Jimmy Green, 2 nieces and 5 nephews, 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews (and his cellphone, TV remote, and Ipad).
