CMSgt (Ret) Michael Kennedy
August 14, 2025
As I think back on our time together, today marks an anniversary for me, August 14, 1980 was the day I entered the delayed entry program with the U.S. Navy. Along the way, after transferring to the Air Guard in 1996, and then to active service with National Guard Bureau, Chief Harris and my paths crossed back in 2011. From that moment on, a solidified brotherhood was established both in service to our nation and Savior & Lord Jesus Christ! I miss this dear brother every day, thinking of him often, but I know he no longer suffers for he ran his race, and God called him home. Well done thou good and faithful servant, Chief Mark Harris.

My deepest prayers and sympathy go out to this Warriors family as I just learned today (Jan 30, 2024) of this wonderful Airman's passing into glory. Chief Harris and I go back a long way, and this man of faith was used of God for His glorify and praise. He was one of the first dear friends I called when I was hired at Bryan College in 2016 to be their Coordinator of Military Recruitment Programs. Even prior to that, when we both served in uniform, Mark in TN and I at Guard Bureau, I always knew he had my back! Continued Prayers for his family, especially his folks. He is with our Lord and Savior, of that I am sure in saying today. God Bless your family Chief Harris! I gave him this statue when he retired several years ago. The Full Armor of God. Chief Harris embodies this still today!

Mark called me in his office to talk to me about flying more often. He talked to about it. Then he acted like he was yelling at me so others could hear. It was funny.

May our Heavenly Father wrap His Everlasting Arms around all of the family and friends at this time of loss. I was honored to serve and fly with Chief Mark and I rejoice that Chief is in His Arms and no longer in any suffering or pain.
