Mark Hasse was born in Carbondale, Illinois, in 1955. He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Dallas, Texas, where he graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a B.A. in History in 1977. He graduated from SMU Law School in 1981 and worked in the Dallas District Attorney's office from 1982 to 1988, rising to the position of felony chief for organized crime. He entered private practice in Dallas in 1988, specializing in aviation law, family law, and criminal defense work. In 1992, Mark moved his home and practice to Rockwall, TX. In 2010, Mark decided to return to criminal trial work and he joined the District Attorney's office in Kaufman, TX. He was the Assistant District Attorney and was particularly concerned with protecting victims of crime. Mark loved to fly airplanes. He earned his commercial pilot's license in college and added multi-engine and instrument certifications in the 1980's. He had Airframe and Powerplant mechanics certifications from the FAA. He owned and operated Intrepid Aircraft Sales Inc. in Rockwall, TX. He was passionate about animals and adopted un-adoptable stray dogs throughout his life. He was a great teller of stories and he kept spirits high among co-workers, friends, and family during good and bad times. Mark is survived by his mother, brother, sister-in-law, two step-brothers, and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed greatly by all of them and by his many friends. A Memorial Service for Mr. Mark Hasse, will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Terrell Performing Arts Center, 400 Poetry Rd., Terrell, TX, 75160. I only recently saw a presentation on the TV show Forensic Files and realized witha shock that Mark was my friend while we were students at Thomas Jefferson HS in Dallas. I remember the play he organized at TJ called School Daze, based on Groucho Marx movies we enjoyed. He also played the harp like Harpo Marx. He was truly a wonderful friend and a very unique person. God bless his family.

To Paul Hasse. I was sorry to have lost touch with you and Mark after high school. I had such great admiration for Mark. I knew he would go on to achieve great things. So sad it ended like this. Please accept these very late condolences.
