Mark W. Howell, a fun-loving, family-oriented husband, father, brother, and papaw, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones, on June 26, 2025 after a battle with Esophageal cancer. Through out his life, Mark never met a stranger. Everyone that he met was a friend.
Mark will be remembered most for the way he cherished spending time with his family and friends. He had a deep love for cooking, a comedic sense of humor and signature ‘Mark-isms’ that brought joy to everyone around him. He also had a lifelong passion for car racing and betting on horses. More than anything he will be remembered for the way he made people feel; loved, seen, and always entertained.
Mark was the foundation of strength and guidance for his family. He will be remembered by his wife of 27 years, Susan M. Howell; children Lindsay (Kyle) and Ross (Merina); sisters Gay (late husband, Charlie) and Patty (Scotty); grandchildren Malia (Trae), Connor, Ivy, and Sage, and great grandson, Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Evelyn.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mark’s life on July 6, 2025 from 12-4 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243.
