Mark Hunt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Raymond Funeral Service PA - La Plata on Feb. 9, 2026.
Mark Hunt of White Plains, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 46 years old.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Hunt, Sr.

Mark is survived by his beloved mother, Mary Hunt; his brother, Michael Hunt (Brandon); his Grandmother, Alleen Whitley; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his cherished dog, Dexter, who was a constant companion, and an abundance of friends that became family.

Born on March 13, 1979, in Washington, DC, Mark spent his entire life rooted in Maryland, where he built deep connections with family, friends, and community. He was a devoted son, brother, and friend whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

After graduating Maurice J. McDonough High School, Mark began his professional life working with the local electrical union and later served as a manager at Boston Market, where his strong work ethic and approachable nature were well known. In recent years, Mark took on one of the most meaningful roles of his life-becoming his mother's primary caretaker.

Many knew Mark affectionately as "Big Sexy," a nickname that reflected his larger-than-life personality and sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, often without even trying.

Mark was an Eagle Scout with Troop 415, a distinction that brought him great pride and made his father especially proud to have two Eagle Scout sons.

An avid football fan, Mark was a loyal supporter of the Washington Redskins. He loved fantasy football and could often be found engaging in spirited football discussions on social media, sharing opinions, stats, and jokes with fellow fans.

Above all, Mark will be remembered as a kind, caring, and funny man who loved his family and friends deeply. His loyalty, warmth, and quiet strength touched many lives.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Saturday, February 14, at Raymond Funeral Home in La Plata, Maryland. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm and a service s will be held at 12pm. Internment will be private. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life lived with love, humor, and devotion.
