Kane, Mark S.
TROY - It is with great sadness that the sisters and brother of Mark S. Kane announce his passing on Thursday, June 13, 2024, of natural causes. Mark was born on November 9, 1959, and was the beloved son of the late Edward and Edna Walsh Kane.
Mark had a 30-year career with the A&P and the Grand Union Market chains and recently retired after a second career with the University at Albany.
Mark was born in Troy, N.Y., and lived most of his life in the Lansingburgh area, with the exception of a few years in Texas. Mark was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1977.
Mark was an avid sports fan, especially of the Miami Dolphins. He loved making his annual summer trips to Cooperstown for the MLB Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies.
He leaves to morn his passing his sisters, Karen (Joseph) Comiskey of Troy, Sharon LeQue of Cropseyville and Colleen Nittinger (Dan) of Watervliet; and his brother, Edward of Watervliet. Mark is also survived by his three special nephews, William LeQue (Laura), Kenneth LeQue (Laurel DelRosario) and Daniel Nittinger (Barbara). Also surviving Mark are his beloved great-nephews, Daniel and Carson Nittinger; and great-nieces, Emily LeQue and Stella DelRosario. Mark leaves behind many lifelong friends that he cherished deeply. Mark is also survived by his wonderful cousins.
Mark's funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, N.Y. 12182.
Calling hours will be held that morning in the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Dr., #100, Albany, N.Y. 12205, in memory of Mark S. Kane.
