Mark Edward Keaton passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in Salinas, CA.

He was born in Brawley, CA on June 21, 1962. Mark was the son of Tom and Shirley Keaton. He graduated from Imperial High School in 1980. For many years, he led a successful career in agriculture, working as an Operations Manager for the distribution of produce for various companies in both the Imperial and Salinas Valleys. In earlier years, Mark enjoyed camping in the Chocolate Mountains with his family, hunting, and spending quality time with his eldest daughters by teaching them how to drive on country roads, mow the lawn, and care for 4-H animals. He also shared the same birthdate as his second born daughter Tara, loved to be outdoors, was a fan of the Oakland A's, enjoyed cooking for friends and family, and shared his love of reading with his youngest daughter. Mark was a devoted husband to his wife, Jana, and held a special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. Throughout his life, Mark showed unconditional love for his family through kindness and generosity. Mark is surely gone too soon and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Mark is survived by his wife, Jana Keaton; daughters, Jeannette Rapp, Tara Keaton, Alyssa Keaton, and Katelyn Martinez; and son, Manny Martinez. He will be missed by his son-in-law, George Rapp; and three grandchildren, Ethan Rapp, Emilia Rapp, and Naya Macias. Mark is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, brother, John Keaton (Patty Keaton), and sister, Kim Smith (Keith Smith).

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on October 27, 2023 at the Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel in Salinas, CA. A celebration of life will be held in El Centro, CA on November 18, 2023.
