Mark F. Kozlowski, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 10, 2025, in Pittsford, NY, following a courageous battle with Myelofibrosis. Born July 26, 1950, in Barberton, Ohio, Mark was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew his generous spirit, inquisitive mind, and love for family.
Mark's journey was shaped by a deep love of learning. After graduating from Youngstown University with a BS in mechanical engineering, he went on to a distinguished career in the plastic film industry, where his innovative work earned him professional awards and several patents. He was also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Yet, Mark is perhaps best remembered for his boundless curiosity and passion for learning, traits that defined both his career and personal life.
Mark's love for travel took him and his beloved wife of 20 years, Jadwiga, around the world, collecting memories and stories wherever they went. At home, he delighted in hosting gatherings, especially Thanksgiving, which became treasured family traditions. Mark always found time for loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and the occasional playful mischief with his nieces and nephews. His willingness to be silly and laugh at himself will be deeply missed.
His interests were as wide-ranging as his travels: WWII history, astronomy, aeronautics, reading, golf, hiking, and biking. He loved flying his drone and observing nature in nearby parks. His varied activities filled his days with joy and purpose. Mark was also a proud member of the Polish Heritage Society of Rochester, honoring his roots and connecting with his community. His monthly retiree lunches with the "Romeos" were also times that he cherished.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jadwiga; his sisters Nancy Stiling and Susan Wells, his brothers-in-law Mike Stiling and Jerry Wells, His brother Mathew Kozlowski, and sister-in-law Josephine Kozlowski: and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce; his parents Jean and Arnold Kozlowski; and his niece Jenny Wells.
Calling hours will be held July 18, from 4-7 p.m. at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., (3325 S. Winton Rd., Rochester, NY 14623). A funeral Mass will follow Saturday at 10 A.M. at St. Marianne Cope Parish (Guardian Angels Church), 2061 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, with interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA. WEBSITE
Mark's curiosity, kindness, sense of humor and warmth will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
