Mark Macklow Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 6, 2023.
Mark Hunt Macklow, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at the age of 75. He is survived by his loving partner, Marcye Dansky; cousins, Barbara (Jason) Roth, and Edward Olshaker; his nephew Jonathan (Jessica) Roth and niece Erica Roth. He was predeceased by his caring parents, Roslyn and Elliot Macklow.
Mark grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and moved to Baltimore in 1997 after his mother passed away, to be closer to relatives. He had an amazing talent for playing the organ and keyboard, and he used to play at the Myerberg Senior center, as well as other senior citizen facilities in Baltimore. He was also a licensed member of the National Association for Amateur Radio, and made friends all over the world. Mark was an accomplished and proud sound technician engineer, specializing in recording equipment. He was so skilled and specialized that he found himself working at the language laboratory of the foreign service institute of the state department for 20 years. His colleagues would say that he was a one-of-a-kind specialist, and Mark worked hard day and night to know that his skills were sought after. Alongside his passion for his career was the care and time he put into his relationship with his partner and companion Marcye. Mark and Marcye would care for and protect each other through all of life's challenges. Mark will be missed dearly by all who know him. May his memory be a blessing always.
Services at Bnai Israel Cemetery Oxon Hill, 5401 St. Barnabas Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745, on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.
