Mark is survived by his wife, Andrea Matranga; son, Andre Dufrene (Kayla); grandchildren, Karleigh and Andee Dufrene; father, John Matranga; brothers, Corey Matranga and Peter Matranga; sisters, Colette Matranga, Danine Doane, Natasha Matranga, Angelle Matranga, and Jeanette ‘JJ’ Matranga; godchildren, Jeb Matranga and Parker Chouest; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Matranga; his brother Leo Matranga; maternal grandparents, Louis and Ophelia Foret; and paternal grandparents, John and Nicoline Matranga.
Mark was creative in every sense — his hands could turn simple wood into works of beauty, and his imagination brought meaning to all that he made. He was strong-willed—not in stubbornness, but in purpose. Though he had every reason to take pride in his many talents and achievements, he carried himself with deep humility; he was a very humble man. His strength inspired those around him. He found peace and joy in the great outdoors, with his love for hunting. Above all, his faith anchored his life. He walked with God daily, trusting in His plan and living out that trust through love, patience, and gratitude. His life was a testimony to what it means to be faithful, to live with purpose, and to give glory where it is due. He will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was—a devoted man of God, a craftsman, an outdoorsman, a hunter, and a humble soul whose presence made the world better. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank any and everyone who helped with Mark through his battle, your kindness and help did not go unnoticed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Mark Matranga’s name to St. Mary’s Nativity Church.
