Mark Richard McClung

Died: August 22, 2025

Mark Richard McClung, age 61, formerly of Sweetwater, went to be with Jesus on Friday, August 22nd. He was at Vanderbilt United Medical Center in Nashville. Mark's Vocation in life for more than 40 years was serving the people. He did this while working as Sheriff's Deputy for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, The Sweetwater Police Department and he recently retired from Blount County 911 Center where he received Telecommunicator of the Year for 2022.

Mark was always willing to explore new ideas and was never afraid of new things. Mark most loved sending time at home with his wife Lisa, their five cats: Gus, Kitty Kitty, Allie, Sadie and Izzy and their dog Bunnie. He loved traveling, aviation, flying drones, photography, anything SYFY, and being Trekkie through and through. He loved his family and work family with everything he had.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents: Beryl and Winona McClung; brother: Mitchell McClung; maternal grandparents: Homer and Lennie Stephend: paternal grandparents: Add and Nancy McClung; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank and Christine Presley.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years: Lisa McClung (Madisonville); brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Donnie and Diane Presley (Sweetwater); Pat Presley (Madisonville); Don and Sandy Robbins (Sweetwater); Lynette Anderson McClung (Murphy, NC); several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that he thought the world of.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
