Mark Morrison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Mar. 10, 2026.
Mark William Morrison, a lifelong resident of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on June 15, 1955, to Dempsie Barney Morrison Jr. and Delia Angier Morrison.

Mark was known for his fondness of coffee and whiskey, corny jokes, helping out when you needed a hand, and eternal heartache for his dearly departed wife, Rebecca McDonald Morrison, due to ALS in 1986. He devoted many proud years as an accountant at National Bank of Commerce (NBC), where he oversaw the bond house's move from One Commerce Square to Ridgeway Loop, then assisted with the decommissioning of the department after their merger with Suntrust. Outside of work, he found joy in the choir and other activities at Bartlett United Methodist Church and will be remembered for always taking time to joke and make someone smile.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Kim Morrison Stewart (Henry); his son Stephen Anthony Morrison (Maggie) and their children Stephen II and Rebecca; his sister Mary Livaudais (Loyd) and their children, Joe, Jon and Karen; sister-in-law Libby Morrison (Barney) and their children Buddy, Frank and Emilie; his sister Anne Morrison; his brother Michael Morrison (Pam) and his children Chris, Josh and Ashley; his sister Martha Westerman Matthews (Nick, Frank) and her children Kris and Ben; his sister-in-law Ruth Morrison (Sam) and her grandchildren.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rebecca McDonald Morrison; his oldest brother Barney Morrison; and his youngest brother Sam Morrison.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 2:00pm at Memphis Habitat's Collierville Offices (920 W Poplar Ave, Collierville, TN 38017).

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery on April 2, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations are made to The American Heart Association.
