Dear Tracy,
My heart goes out to you. I heard about this from my mom a while ago, and I have been thinking of you from time to time. I just remember Mark from your wedding day. He actually took an interest in talking to me. I think he showed his character and his compassion in that moment. You should know that I consider you the brightest light in your family. I know that you and Mark must have raised amazing children who have become amazing adults.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am shocked and terribly saddened by the news of Mark's passing, I am still having a hard time believing it is true. I am so sorry for your loss, my deepest condolences to you all.
I was fortunate to know Mark for the last few years, as we both worked out together often at the Boston Harbor hotel. We got to be good friends over the years and shared many great moments of laughter, conversation, memorable dinners and a few beers.
Mark was also a mentor to my son Elliot, and was an amazing teacher, who encouraged to him to follow his dreams in finance. Mark was always there for him anytime he needed guidance and always made time to see Elliot, as he returned often, for both advice or just to say hello. I will never forget the kindness that Mark had for sharing his knowledge and experience so openly and freely with him.
Both my son and I will be eternally grateful for the generosity, compassion, friendship and laughter that made Mark so special.
I know many people share my sentiment when I say I am a better person because I knew Mark Murphy.
Rest in peace my friend, I only wish I we could have shared many more years as friends....

Dear Tracy, Brian, Matthew, Daniel & Marie-
I'm stunned to hear about Mark's ("Murph's") death. Although you don't know me, I'm sending you sincere love and hope that you can find peace someday with his tragic loss.
I went to college with your husband/dad and took classes with him, as well as worked with him at SAGA (the cafeteria) along with some of his friends (Tom, Ralph, and Paul). I will always remember his great (biting) sense of humor, his social nature, strong intellect and ability to challenge anyone, and his wonderful ability to light up a party. He was also compassionate and loyal to his friends, and genuinely cared about their well-being.
I'm hoping his entire life can be honored and remembered as something good and positive overall. Hopefully, his friends and family can hold his goodness in their hearts and not base his entire life on the last few weeks/months when he must have been struggling deeply emotionally and in great personal crisis.
Please take care and know that many, many people are thinking of you everyday and praying and hoping that you will find peace.
Sincerely,
Geej Allsopp Forbes (SMC 1982)

Dear Tracy, Brian, Matthew, Daniel and Marie. I'm sure there are many people that want to leave a condolence but don't because there aren't adequate words to express ones feelings at a time like this. I do feel that way too but Mark's laughter and voice at the ball games I either coached Brian in or attended as a fan while watching our children keeps loudly resonating in my ears and I just have to share memory with you. His strong laughter won't leave my conscience. May God keep all of you strong. I pray for your well being.

I worked closely with Mark these past 4 years in equities in Boston. I knew him to be a highly intelligent and passionate investor, who loved and was incredibly (and rightfully) proud of his family. The happiness and joy in his face talking about his kids was quite real.
My sincere condolences to your family and let me know if I can do anything.
Sincerely,
Rob McCarthy

Dear Murphy Family. I would like to send you all my most sincere condolences. I worked with Mark at Legg Mason when I started my career. I can't tell you how much I loved Mark. Everything about him was great. We didn't work together per se, but we sat across from one another and Mark helped me for no other reason than he wanted to see me succeed. He was the opposite of selfish. He was extremely kind, patient, funny and SMART! We also battled on the tennis court from time to time... it was always fun.
I'm sorry that I can not attend the services as I'm currently traveling overseas but I will think about Mark and his wonderful family in my prayers for many many years to come. May god bless you all.
