I first met Mark in his Sun Synchrony days. He had gathered people together (one of his strengths) to work on that project, a potentially revolutionary solar system. To a large extent, it was his enthusiasm that kept Sun Synchrony going. It was one of his many "wild" ideas that he always had a large supply of.
Mark had a true belief in protecting the environment and he lived it. We were both owners of Nissan Leaf EV's; not the latest and greatest EV's, but basic and useful. Whereas I was pretty cautious in driving distances, Mark would charge his to 100% and take it all the way to "turtle mode" on numerous occasions. Kind of the way he lived a lot of his adventures, I think. And he sure had a sense of adventure. He fearlessly navigated the SF bay. First with his paddle board and kayak, then later with his not-quite-new sailboat.
I will miss Mark, not just because of his adventurous spirit, but because he was also a kind and gentle person.
