Mark Anthony Piar, age 58, of Chester Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born December 2, 1967, in West Branch, MI, to the late Eugene and Carol (Breadon) Piar. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years. In 1986, Mark married Dawn Libka and together had two children. Mark worked as a diesel mechanic for many years and specialized in firetrucks. He served as a volunteer firefighter on the Chester Township Fire Department for over 18 years.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Dawn; daughter, Sarah (James) Ausema; son, Matthew (Raychel) Piar; grandchildren, McKayla, Melany, Adam, Corbin, Adeline, and Matthew Jr.; 8 siblings, Wade (Alisa) Piar, Lynne Fielstra, Pam Piar, Diana (Larry) Frandsen, Shannon (Earl) Kingsbury, Cindy Piar, Vicki (Dennis) Borowski, and Mitchell (Jennifer) Piar; mother-in-law, Dorothy Libka; brothers-in-law, Larry and Jeff Libka; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Fred Libka; and brother-in-law, John Fielstra.
Gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave. NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321, from 11:00am until 1:00pm, with a funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Dan VanBelzen officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps and Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
