WINSTED
Mark Leonard Prelli, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Cynthia "Cindy" (Chase) Prelli for 44 wonderful years. Born December 16, 1951 in Winsted, he was the son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Roraback) Prelli.
Mark graduated from St. Michael's College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He worked as a mechanic, welder, and maintenance supervisor for over 30 years at Butternut Basin Ski Area. He and Cindy enjoyed ten happy years of retirement with family and friends.
A devoted husband and father, Mark's first priority was always his family. Mark enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of nature through gardening, fishing, working, and simply spending time in the great outdoors. His devotion of service extended beyond the family circle into the community in his roles as a long-time member of Riverton Congregational Church, past Master of Riverton Grange #169, an active member and Treasurer of the Winsted Volunteer Fire Department, Engine 3, and past Master of St. Andrew's Lodge #64 in Winsted.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his cherished children, Mark Prelli, II and fiancé Kristel-Ann Scott of Winsted, Faith Prelli and spouse Daniel James of North Granby; beloved granddaughter, Phoenix Prelli-James; brother, Phil Prelli and wife Maureen of North Carolina, sister, Gail Prelli and husband Charles Bierce of New Hampshire; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
