Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Mark Ryan Caguioa US Army Specialist.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I served with mark in Iraq. He was in my platoon. I go visit him every year and I've noticed that I may be just missing his family every time. If his family reads these I would really like to meet you there one of these years and talk to you. It would mean a lot to me as well. You can reach me at 9166262702

I hardly knew Mark but from the moment I met him I knew he was a great kid. I worked with his mother Maria and he had come several times to pick her up from work, so sweet he was making sure she had a safe way home. It was difficult for Maria. We her co workers; we didnt know quite what to do for her. Funny thing is SHE was the one who comforted US, she was soooo brave. He is now looking down on his mom, dad and younger siblings as their guardian angel. We miss you Mark and I am so happy that I had the priviledge to meet you. God Bless

It's hard to think that it is four years since God call you and Guyton home to be with him. It seems like yesterday when I got that terrible call on May 4, 2007 of the accident. Mark, you and your family will always be in our prayers. You was a good friend to my son Pfc.Larry Guyton and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will never be forgotten.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Mark, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

A Soldier's Prayer
(author unknown)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

*******************************

I saw this earlier today and thought about you Mark. In MD after you passed away at the Naval Medical Hospital when your Mom, aunties, and I were outside there were peaceful moments when the breeze would pick up and how the branches would sway, and the birds would chirp it put a smile on my face bec. I knew you were there. To me it's your way of hugging/kissing and letting us know that you are at peace and smiling...

I still look for those moments and when they come I will think of you and my love ones that has passed away... and as always will say: "we love you, we miss you, and we'll see you again someday..."

Dear Marky,

I wish I had more of a chance to get to know you better. The little things I knew of you make me smile. Last night your Ate Sato and I drove by the hospital in San Mateo and it reminded me of the time I had to take you to the emergency room. You had a fever...I think and you weren't getting any better. That was around New Years and you were about 17 yrs old.I told your Ate Sato that you were funny because when the doctor called you in the room...I opted to stay outside so he can check you. You looked at me and asked me to be in the room with you. I told the doctor that you were such a baby and need me to hold your hand. You had that famous big smile on your face until the doctor asked you to take off your shirt.I thought for sure you will tell me to stay outside but instead you showed off your skinny body and made a comment that Iam in the presence of the "sexiest man alive"....I had to hold back my tears last night(coz Ate Sato cries enough for both of us)because I just realized that you grew up so fast and the boy that needed me in the emergency room turned out to be the bravest and honorable young man...who knew...and I thought I will only get a chance to meet the "sexiest man alive"...Thank you for the memories and I will miss you.

Your Ate Sato's Boss...

June 4, 2007

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

To The Family:Although I do not know you, I want to express my heartfelt sympathies. America has lost sight of what a hero is...Mark was a hero. The ultimate sacrifice has been made for our freedom. May God give you the strenght to make it through the difficult times ahead.

Markie is the name for those who had the chance to be his first babysitter.

I was blessed to be one of them and I was saddened by his passing. I, too, was the one to have an opportunity to play "baril-barilan" with him, a Filipino version of hide and seek.

I can still remember his cute smiling eyes that you can't afford to get mad at him because his eyes are so beautiful even when he's crying.

You're my hero Markie..

To Mark and Family:
I "SALUTE" you, your son gave his life for our freedom and safety words alone cannot describe my gratitude or pride and at the same time "sorrow". God Bless Mark, he is now walking free and safe. God Bless and keep ALL our troops, I salute you all.
May God our Lord and savior grant you peace and comfort in this trial and time. Prayers are with you.

Mark, you saw a wrong and tried to correct it....that is what heros do. They give their ultimate to insure our freedoms. I am so proud to live in the same town with you. To your family, I want to say I am so sorry for their loss. I can not imagine what they are going through. I can only pray that they are given the strength to see them through this very difficult time. You are one of God's angels now, please watch over them.

Mark,

Band of Brothers...you did not die in vain, the ultimate sacrifice that you made to preserve our freedom...is what we are called for to our duty as soldiers to make sure our families are safe back home. You may rest in peace...and again my condolences to the family...

To the family and friends of Specialist Caguioa I extended a deep regret for his passing in the noblest of ways. He was in the defense of this nation for a cause that he believed in. I pray that Mark and other soldier's sacrifices live long past their precious lives.

I too did not know Mark but from what I have read, I am so saddened.
He clearly touched just about everyone who knew him with his wonderful sense of humor and joy of life. I am sure he is at peace, watching over all who loved him. My deepest sympathies to his friends and family. Taken too young.

*** WE ARE SOLDIERS, MARK IS A HERO... GOD BLESS YOU ALL

To say that Mark's sacrifices are heroic is an understatement. His heroism extends far beyond his efforts in Iraq for he taught us invaluable lessons...the importance of family, love and laughter in the midst of tragedy. Mark's life while short was complete for he died doing what he loves most, being a soldier. How many of us can claim the same? Mark was a blessing, a gift, a miracle all by himself. He is a hero in every sense of the word. I can only hope those of us who remain can make him proud as we are of him. He will be forever missed, his beautiful smile an indelible memory, and the love in our hearts we will always carry for an angel named Markie.
