Mark Lee Rodvold, of Spring Creek, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Born on August 11, 1961, in Two Harbors, Minnesota, to Henry “Red” and Shirley (Larson) Rodvold, Mark grew up with small-town values that guided him throughout life—kindness, hard work, and a steadfast way of showing up for others. He loved spending time outdoors, playing football and curling, and volunteering with the Jaycees. After graduating from Two Harbors High School in 1980, he earned a degree in Forest Harvesting Technology in 1984. Early in his career, Mark enjoyed being part of the local Moose Lodge and worked in the lumber industry before transitioning into underground mining. This transition led him to Nevada, where he spent over 25 years in the gold mines. He was known for his reliability, sense of humor, and the genuine care he brought to his work and friendships.
Becoming a father changed Mark’s life forever. His daughters, Nicole and Katelyn, were his greatest pride, and he carried them in his heart no matter where life took him. He later found immense joy in being “Papa” to his grandchildren, Riley and Reagan. Mark will be greatly missed and remembered for his gentle humor, a smile that could light up a room, his loyal heart, and the quiet strength he carried through every chapter of his life.
Mark is survived by his daughters Nicole (Gina) Rodvold and Katelyn (Eric) Rau; grandchildren Riley and Reagan Rau; siblings Barbara Ekstrom, Jeffery (Mary) Rodvold, and Keith (Donna Krauss) Rodvold; and many extended family members and friends in Minnesota and Nevada. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Eddy Park, Ken (Ellen) Smith, and Keith (Sheila) Abplanalp who were like family to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors, Minnesota, followed by burial at Lakeview Cemetery and a luncheon at the Two Harbors Moose Lodge.
