MR. Mark R. Sims

Mark Roshawn Sims was born
September 21, 1958 in St. Louis,
Missouri to Johnnie and Katie Sims. He
grew up in Cahokia Heights, Illinois.
Mark, had one sibling, sister Sharon
Sims and one child, daughter Kiara Sims.
He accepted Christ at an early age and
was baptized at Mount Zion Church at
13th and Tudor.
He graduated from East Side High
School in 1977. Retired as a fork lift
operator from Cerro Copper
after 40+ years.
He enjoyed skating. All would consider
him a Mustang enthusiasts, including a
nomination to judge at car shows. He
was a member of the Mustang Club of
America, Charter Member of Team Ford
Racing and a vendor of vintage car parts.
Mark, volunteered for Alorton, now
Cahokia Heights Fire Department. Mark
peacefully passed away of natural causes
Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the age of
66. He is preceded in death by both
parents, Johnnie and Katie Sims.
He is survived by, daughter, Kiara Sims;
sister, Sharon Sims and a host of uncles,
aunts, cousins, family, and friends.
