Mark Sobol, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 1, 2025 at his home after a brief illness. He was born April 28, 1963 in Winsted; the loving son of Katherine (Lambert) Sobol of Winsted and the late Walter S. Sobol, Jr.
Mark was a lifelong resident of Winsted and worked as a Machinist Manager for many years. He enjoyed swimming and camping in the summer and skiing in the winter. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and had a great rivalry with his sister and her husband every fall over their teams. He loved being a flagger at the races either Speedway or Runway in Lime Rock.
In addition to his mother, he leaves two children, John and wife Ashlei of SC and Sarah Guillet and her husband Matt of Griswold; 5 grandchildren; Hayden, Natasha and Tristan Sobol and Dylon and Gavin Guillet; two sisters, Cheryl Deane and husband Michael of Winsted and Patricia Daveley of Torrington; and several nieces, nephews and close friends even from childhood that are part of the family.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted has care of the arrangements. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.

Was so shocked to hear this sad news. I've known Mark since I was 10 years old! So many fun memories up at the lake!! Wishing the best to his family at this time!
