Mark Taboada Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leal Funeral Home - West Houston on Dec. 12, 2025.
Our father, Mark Henrique Taboada Sr., was a man defined by resilience, intellect, and deep compassion. Born with a rare heart disease, he began life as a fighter and stayed a fighter until the very end. He wasn't expected to live as long as he did, but he pushed through every obstacle with determination, giving us more years than anyone believed possible. For his sacrifice, his strength, and his will to stay alive for his family, we are eternally grateful.

He practiced law for over 40 years-immigration, family law, child support, and criminal defense. He helped thousands of people rebuild their lives. To him, they were never just clients. They were human beings he cared about deeply, people whose struggles he took personally and whose futures he fought for with everything he had.

He was also a man who loved films, art, history, and culture. He was endlessly curious and studious, always learning, always expanding his understanding of the world. He was passionate about politics and his favorite soccer time, Junior de Baranquilla. Those passions shaped how he thought, how he worked, and impacted those around him.

He is survived by his children: Mark Henrique Taboada Jr., Helen Marie Taboada, and John Paul Taboada. He is also survived by his brothers, Rodolfo (Rudy) Taboada and Michael Taboada, along with extended family members, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout his life. Mark is forever in our hearts. May he rest in peace for eternity.
